Course Description

The requirements for doctoral candidates are high. The first major research project for which you bear primary responsibility brings many challenges. Good time and self-management, as well as effective project management, are essential for making productive progress. This is exactly where the workshop comes in.

The workshop places great emphasis on thinking very concretely about which of the presented tools and strategies suit you and your work situation, and how you can successfully transfer them into practice. The content focuses on fundamental methods and principles that are easy to use and have a lasting impact. Depending on the participants’ interests, we will also discuss ways to communicate constructively with supervisors, address the basics of academic writing skills, and explore motivation strategies.
 

Course Goals

In this workshop, you will reflect on key fundamentals of project management and apply them to your research project. You will develop a research project plan for the coming six months. In addition, you will learn methods for efficient and effective time and self-management in the context of your doctorate.
