The RPTU is hosting taster courses at the Landau campus from November 17 to 20, 2025. Prospective students can attend courses, talk to current students, and receive individual advice in the Info Café. This will give them an authentic impression of everyday student life and the right degree programs for them.

Model-based simulation and optimization enable resources to be used more efficiently, ensure high added value, and shorten innovation cycles. The workshop »AI and Simulation in Biotechnology« offers presentations and opportunities for discussion about the future of biotechnology and the associated opportunities for industry.

Venture Dates brings startups, investors, and co-founders together! On June 25, 2025, there will be a speed dating event where startups and investors can talk to each other at information stands. The three best startups will pitch their ideas and win prizes. The get-together will focus on relaxed networking. Registration deadline: September 26 for startups and October 10 for investors.

Maintenance in Munich is the leading trade fair for industrial maintenance. Together with Fraunhofer IML, Fraunhofer IAO, and Fraunhofer Austria, Fraunhofer ITWM will be presenting innovative solutions for smart maintenance. The institutes will offer insights into data-based systems that improve overall equipment effectiveness. They will also be hosting a lecture session.

The RPTU is hosting Chemistry Day in Kaiserslautern and inviting high school students to experience chemistry up close. Lectures, workshops, and lab tours offer exciting insights into research, everyday life, and degree programs such as science, teaching, and food chemistry. Student counseling and personal consultations help students choose the right degree program.

Under the motto »Lighter – More Sustainable – More Digital,« Fraunhofer ITWM will be presenting technologies and software solutions for industry at K 2025 in Düsseldorf. At the Fraunhofer joint booth (Hall 7, Level 0, Booth SC05), researchers will be showcasing their latest developments in digital material simulation, quality assurance, and process optimization.

The IT security industry will meet at it-sa 2025, where 900 exhibitors will present solutions for combating cybercrime. Fraunhofer IESE will also be there this year.

The training course offered by Fraunhofer IESE's Eclipse BaSyx developers on implementing the digital twin with the administration shell combines theory and practical application, hands-on work with Eclipse BaSyx and related open-source tools, and intensive exchange with experts from industry and research.

In his lecture, Prof. Dr. David Kuchenbuch (visiting professor of contemporary history at the Free University of Berlin) analyzes the successes of right-wing populist parties in Northern Europe, particularly in Sweden and Denmark, based on recent positive references to Scandinavia by German politicians.

»MESHFREE« can be used to simulate a variety of situations, as it adapts efficiently to moving geometry elements.In the training you will get an overview of the MESHFREE tool and it will be shown how the software optimally supports the requirements. The »Safety meets Security« conference will take place on Thursday, March 13, 2025, on the premises of Fraunhofer IESE in Kaiserslautern and will bring together experts from the fields of safety and security.
