Every two years, interested parties come together at the Fraunhofer ITWm to discuss mathematical methods in process engineering.

For three days, the competence center at the garden show in Kaiserslautern will be all about mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology (MINT). Zukunftsregion Westpfalz e.V. invites all pupils in grades 8 to 13 to take part in various workshops;

From idea to concept in a creative atmosphere! Budding founders have the opportunity to spend a week developing their own idea in a structured way under expert guidance and can exchange ideas with representatives from science and industry at evening events.

Registrations are possible until August 18th!

The MINT-EC-Math-Talent-School is aimed at schoolgirls who would like to gain an insight into the professional world of mathematicians and would like to exchange ideas with other interested parties. What is applied mathematics anyway?

22 female students from Kaiserslautern, Neustadt, Ramstein or Worms took the opportunity to spend a day at the Fraunhofer ITWM on Girls' Day on April 25, 2024. A varied program including a rally showed the participants the range and atmosphere at the world's largest institute for industrial mathematics.

For three years, they have been working on their projects and volunteering their time – and at the beginning of April, they were rewarded for their efforts. 27 students from Rhineland-Palatinate successfully took part in the state mathematics competition. The competition ended with the award ceremony at the Fraunhofer ITWM.

From the start of the 2024/25 winter semester, the traditional engineering courses at the University of Kaiserslautern will be offered as dual studies. The range of courses includes mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering, mechatronics and energy engineering.

The Green-AI Hub Mobile has exemplary AI solutions on board that show how artificial intelligence helps to save energy and resources. Together with the coordinating Zukunft – Umwelt – Gesellschaft gGmbH, and Professor Oliver Thomas (DFKI), Steffi Lemke gave the go-ahead for the Green-AI Hub Mobil.

Prof. Dr. Sighard Neckel from the University of Hamburg talks about the ecological restructuring of our economy and way of life and the challenges this transformation entails.

Speaker PD Dr. phil. nat. Johannes Lenhard from the University of Kaiserslautern-Landau (RPTU) will give a lecture on mathematical theory and machine learning.
