Process Engineering Day
In Kaiserslautern, research and practice work hand in hand to advance process engineering in innovative ways – from the simulation of complex flows and material properties to the analysis of industrial processes and the development of optimized workflows. Interdisciplinary collaboration combines scientific precision with practical solutions for virtual product and process development.
Process engineering is a key research focus at RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau. It is supported by the chairs of bioprocess engineering, mechanical process engineering, thermodynamics, and reaction and fluid process engineering, and benefits from close cooperation with computer science and mathematics.
A particular strength is the close partnership between the RPTU chairs and the experts at Fraunhofer ITWM. This is evident in publicly funded projects, in structural programs such as the »Simulation and Software-Based Innovation« high performance center, and in joint industry projects, where pooled scientific expertise flows directly into companies.
Process Engineering Day highlights this multifaceted collaboration, creates space for interdisciplinary dialogue, and demonstrates how successfully Kaiserslautern shapes process engineering. At the same time, it aims to provide impetus for promoting local achievements beyond the region and strengthening the visibility of the university location.
