Course Description

The transition from academia to the private sector is an important and sometimes difficult step. This basic training course will help you prepare for job interviews and negotiate your salary. In a live webinar, you will gain an overview of typical starting salaries, factors that influence salary, and differences between women's and men's salaries, and learn how to determine an appropriate salary for a position with the help of a calculation tool. In addition, self-study and video courses will teach you how to prepare for interviews, structure interview phases, and shape both your self-presentation and special interview situations such as telephone or online interviews. You will also work through and rehearse typical interview situations and receive feedback on your self-presentation.

Course Goals

You will learn how to prepare for job interviews in a structured manner and conduct them confidently, as well as how to adapt your self-presentation to suit the situation. You will learn about typical starting salaries and salary-related factors, enabling you to determine an appropriate salary and negotiate it in a salary negotiation. You will also deal with frequently asked questions and interview situations in the application process.
